Show Description:
Cactus Flower is a 1960s farce centered on Dr. Julian Winston, a philandering dentist who lies about being married to avoid commitment, and his no-nonsense nurse, Stephanie Dickinson, whom he coerces into posing as his wife. The plot revolves around their romantic entanglements, featuring key roles like Toni (the mistress), Igor (the neighbor), and Harvey (the friend).
Main Characters:
Dr. Julian Winston: A middle-aged, affluent dentist in Greenwich Village who invents a wife and children to keep his girlfriends from demanding marriage.
Stephanie Dickinson: Julian’s efficient, loyal, and somewhat "prickly" nurse/receptionist who transforms from a "dried-up" assistant into a charming woman (the titular "cactus flower").
Antonia "Toni" Simmons: Julian’s young, impulsive, and kooky girlfriend who works in a record store.
Igor Sullivan: Toni’s bohemian, aspiring-writer neighbor who is in love with her.
Harvey Greenfield: Julian’s best friend and attorney, often exasperated by life.
Mrs. Dixon Durant: A sophisticated patient of Julian's.
Señor Arturo Sanchez: A patient or acquaintance involved in the tangled plot.
Botticelli's Springtime: A bohemian friend of Igor.
Waiter/Customer/Music Lover: Assorted roles used for comedic scenes at a restaurant or record store.
